Yūgen Forest is a regenerative horticulture project located on Roggebotstaete, Holland. The project aims to enrich nature by combining climate-positive vegetable and fruit growing with principles from agroecology, permaculture, and food forestry. The project's goal is to facilitate more fertility, more biodiversity, and more interrelationships every year, giving people a key role in supporting the ecosystem. The project was designed by Weruschca Kirkegaard of United Designers, who worked with the project team to create a landscape framework that integrates recreational and small-scale living while increasing biodiversity and resilience to climate change. The project also offers sacred spaces for mental health and well-being. The core goal of the Roggebotstaete Foundation is to create a robust green-blue structure that matches the landscape identity and character of the place.
As part of United Designers team we assisted in this project with the research in the site assessment phase.
